Weigh Day

YAY!!!
I am down 3.6 pounds! A total of 13.4 pounds! My weight is 164.2 today! So exciting!
I am so sore today! Ouch!

Weigh Day January 31, 2008
164.2

My pants are falling off, so I had to go to DI andbuy a pair to tide me over. The ones on me here are a 12. I got a size 10 today!!! Holly loaned me the shirt, because the one I had on after weigh in made me look like I was preggo!
I am seeing definition in my waist now ( Which has lost almost 6 inches.) I am struggling with my thigh area. Not much loss there.

Weigh day tomorrow

I am so nervous!! I don't know why. All my pants are falling off of me, but that darn psychological aspect of NUMBERS and the lower the number, the more successful I will have been. The pants I said could possible fit are still a bit tight, but I am trying to be realistic. Also, I couldn't even fit them over my hips 4 weeks ago, and now they slide over the hips...It's just the buttoning them that is an issue! I could probably wear them.....if I wanted to be arrested for indecent cellulite exposure, so I will wait!

I did Tae bo with Holly yesterday and today...but this afternoon, my back is really bothering me. I think I did something while kicking toward heaven.....That or punching the crap out of my imaginary fat cells in mid air. Darn imaginary fat cells. They WILL pay, yes, they will.

So, I may go to the gym tonight and do a little cardio and work my legs and thighs..and then soak in the hot tub. But, sorry to say, even soaking in the hot tub get's me all nervous. I hate bathing suits, and I especially hate bathing suits on ME.

Some of you may know that a little over 2 years ago....I lost 63 pounds. My highest weight ever was 203. I got down to 140. Two summers ago, my DH and I went to Hawaii, and even a reasonable weight,I was embarrassed of my body.

The last 2 years have been really tough on my body. I have had 2 surgeries, and a lot of female problems. I gained back so much of my weight, some due to medicine I was on, and some because I got placid about my exercising and eating habits. I kick myself every day for allowing the weight to come back for a visit. So, I am kicking that extra weight OUT.......Here are some pictures from my last weight loss adventure. Highest, then lowest ( Lowest since having children that is!)

So, if I can do it..you can too!! I am the laziest person I know! I WILL fit back into that dress!

Food Journal

I'm sorry I don't get on here and post over the weekend..it's hectic around here with all five kids and hubby!
I have been keeping my food/health journal up to date. I think it is nice to read what everyone else is eating, to get ideas and such. I actually went out and bought just a cute plaid notebook, and wrote some goals on the first couple of pages, and some of the struggles I have faced the last year or so. I know it has helped me in the past, and I wish I could find my other food journals, but they are packed away in storage. I like figuring out what is working, and what is not.
I do know that I HAVE to have a high fiber cereal in the morning, or I am famished by 10. I have been eating either Healthy choice frozen meals, or Lean Cuisine for lunch, because I am obviously not creative enough to make anything else! I really need lunch ideas, so post them for me if you have some!

I am noticing some wonderful changes in my body. I bought some workout/yoga pants when we first started this. I bought a size large and they fit snug as a bug in a rug.

I have them on this morning, and whenever I stand, they slide down my waist and hips. I have to keep tugging them up! They are getting baggy in my crotch, thigh area. So, no complaints about them not fitting! I would rather they didn't!

I think I am going to stick to Thursday as my weigh day. It works for me! I will weigh on the 7th of each month for the " Official" weight and measurements. I do like to measure almost every week, even if I see no loss. When I do see a loss, it motivates me. I also think it keeps me accountable, and helps me see where I could be working a little harder on certain areas of my body. I won't post the measurements until the official weigh day though. K?
Here is my food journal starting from Saturday January 26th. Saturdays are usually my
"Free" day. That just means I am not as strict with my calories. I have found by doing this, it jumps starts my metabolism for the coming week. I don't pig out, I just allow some things I would normally say no to during the rest of the week.

Breakfast: 1 cup cereal with 1/2 cup 1% milk and splenda ( Always choose a cereal with at least 3 grams of fiber or more per serving)
Lunch: Healthy Choice Dinner, small salad with light Italian dressing
Snack: Spicy Chicken Breast, some M & M's
Dinner: Shared a plate of Bamboo hut with my hubby. Some Chicken, noodles and veggies. I ate just a small portion. Also had a couple bites of mango cream cake. YUMMY!

Sunday, January 27th

Breakfast: 1 cup cereal ( Nutty nuggets, like grape nuts) 1/2 cup 1% skim milk
Lunch: Spicy Chicken Breast with small salad
Snack: Skinny Cow ice-cream fudge bar, these things ROCK!
Dinner: Healthy choice meal
Snack: Skinny Cow ice-cream and popcorn
Monday January 28th

Breakfast: 1 cup cereal ( Nutty nuggets, like grape nuts) 1/2 cup 1% skim milk
Snack: 100 calorie cookies
Lunch: Healthy Choice pasta and a fruit smoothie ( 1 cup skim milk, 4 frozen strawberries, and 3 Tablespoons splenda)
Dinner: 1 small Chicken breast, 1/2 cup steamed broccoli, 1/4 steamed new potatoes with a dab of margarine. Diet Pepsi

Hump Day

Halfway through the week..HURRAY!!! Tomorrow is my official weigh day, but I got on the scale today. We will see if the number I got matches the number tomorrow...I HOPE SO!!! Remember what I said about the 160's? Well unofficially, my number this morning was 167! That is 10 pounds ladies! Like I said though..tomorrow is the official day, so I am not going to get excited yet!

I have not been to the gym this whole week. I have done tummy crunches and leg lifts. I am going to " attempt" Pilates this morning. Yeah. If I were doing a reality show, I would most likely be fired.

While I was doing my tummy crunches last night, I realized that I don't particularly like " second belly. " It's been with me for a while, and I know it's pretty comfy hanging over my pants, but I think it's time to say adieu. It's been consistent lying next to me at night, even after I have changed positions ( Like an annoying pet that won't move!) Yes. That extra belly has been a protection for 5 babies, and cold weather, but it's time to let go. So, goodbye blubber belly, goodbye. I hope I don't hurt your feelings if I say I never want to see you again. Have a good life in fat heaven!

******Update. Yeppers. Auntie Flo is on her way. I went to the gym tonight. Did 1.5 miles on the treamill. Worked the arm machines, tummy and inner/outer thighs. I also went into the dry sauna hoping I would sweat out all this water retention before tomorrows weigh in...hahahahaha....Yeah, right!

Breakfast: 2 bran muffins, small pat of butter. 1 glass of water.

Lunch: Lean Cuisine chesse pizza water

Snack: Orange and small yogurt parfait

Dinner: 1/3 cup rice with chicken, brocolli and green peas

Snack: Oj smoothie and lowfat popcorn

OJ Smoothie
1 cup orange juice
1/4 cup frozen light or fat free whipped topping
2-3 packs splenda

Blend in blender....DELICIOUS!

Just one pound

Hello, do you know me?

If you don't, you should. I'm a pound of fat,
And I'm the HAPPIEST pound of fat that you would ever want to meet.
Want to know why?

It's because no one ever wants to lose me;
I'm ONLY ONE POUND, just a pound!

Everyone wants to lose three pounds, five pounds, or fifteen pounds, but never only one.
So I just stick around and happily keep you fat.

Then I add to myself, ever so slyly, so that you never seem to notice it.
That is, until I've grown to ten, twenty, thirty or even more pounds in weight.

Yes, it's fun being ONLY ONE POUND OF FAT, left to do as I please. So, when you weigh in, keep right on saying, "Oh, I only lost one pound."

For you see, if you do this, you'll encourage others to keep me around because they'll think I'm not worth losing.

And, I love being around you - your arms, your legs, your chin, your hips and every part of you.

Happy Days!!!

After all, I'm ONLY ONE POUND OF FAT!!!

Just think ladies....many of us have lost at least 3 pounds so far......even 5. See what 5 pounds of fat looks like? Just think, each and every ounce is leading you to a better body. It is easy to get discouraged, but get over it, and get on with it. The time is going to pass anyways, might as well be getting rid of that nasty fat in the meantime, eh???

Rough Weekend..Back on track!

Whew...Can we just skip the weekends...Please?
It is really hard eating right when you have 5 skinny kids who like to eat! Saturday was rough...Sunday was a little better. I was back on track yesterday, and didn't cheat once! I decided that I wanted to see my weight in the 160's this Thursday, so I had better kick some backside! ( I will have to get going if I want to beat Melissa this week!) It all depends on AF, who is coming for a visit this week. My only vise about being a woman!

I am not drinking enough fluids. It's hard for me. I am not a water person. I guess I just need to keep a Crystal light next to me at all times like M.

I have my goal outfit at my Mom's, but as I was organizing my closet yesterday, I found 3 pairs of pants that * Could * possibly fit me this month, or early February. That is my goal. I am going to work extra hard on those areas on my body that are struggling to get into those darn pants! That, meaning my dang Texas sized thighs!

You see, for me, I really don't want this to be about the numbers, albeit the money would be nice and all! I just want to feel good in my own skin. I know I will never be skinny, in terms of everybody else's vision of skinny, but I want to be healthy. I want to fit into a pair of jeans and not think my bulges are scaring small children. I want to wear a nice fitted t-shirt that doesn't have fat rolls on my back showing through. I want to weigh what my body " Needs" to weigh, not what I
"Think" I should weigh, or anybody else thinks I should weigh.

I like what Tammy's friend said, about being blessed with this body. Are we not lucky to be able to walk and run, even if we are still a little winded trying to do so? So, ladies....let's do this...let's get our bodies healthy, and feel good about our progress, be it losing nothing, 1 or 7 pounds. AT least we are trying, right?

I just want you all to have a good week! BE GOOD!!!!!

Ouch, my tummy!

I am soooooo sore from exercising the other night. I worked my legs and tummy, and my tummy HURTS! I have a cough, and every time I cough, I cringe! That's good, right?
The kids have a 4 day weekend...so I will be going insane.
Last night I was really hungry. I sliced some tomatoes and pickles and ate those, then had 4 peanut M&M's.

Breakfast: Raisin Bran with 1% milk
Lunch: Half WEndy's taco salad...no dressing. Diet Pepsi
Dinner: We had to go to a dinner for church tonight. I had a small salad, small piece of roast, 1 small potato and a roll. Add a mini cheesecake. GRRRRRRR!
Snack: Popcorn and Diet Pepsi

It's been crazy here!

****** Okay....those of you on Weight Watchers, I want to give you a tool. I tried this after being on WW for 6 months. I lost about 1 to 1.5 pounds a week just doing regular WW, but then plateau. Using Wendie's plan, I lost around 2-3 pounds a week after that. It tricks your metabolism. Try it for one week.

Sorry I haven't updated in so long. I have been doing good. I have been to the gym almost every day, and have been able to get on the treadmill. I have been eating GREAT! Today is my weigh day, so wish me luck!
Oh, I joined a thing through my husbands job called Healthy Utah. If I exercise for 100 days, and lose a certain % of fat, I can get some cash!
*** Update. I weighed in today. Weight 172.8 down 1.4 pounds.

Breakfast: Slim fast shake
Snack: Buku
Lunch: 1 cup progresso soup with 10 whole wheat cracker
Snack: Roll
Dinner: Chicken breast strips and steamed brocolli
