We did it!!!!

We all made it to the end. Melissa did smoke us...her time was around 33 minutes. I was second at 40, Holly 42, Sharon 49. Official times will be posted on their site later. I was just glad I finished!!

5k.......here we come!

I am soooooooo nervous.  I just went and drove the course.  The cones and signs are all in place, so hopefully we won't get run over by unpredictable Utah drivers.  It is cloudy and chilly...just our luck.

I am here at my Mom's for a light breakfast. Wish us luck. We will report later on. I already know Melissa and Holly are going to smoke me! They will all be at the end.....sweat dried from their brows for ages already as they clap me in... " You can do it Christi...ONE MORE STEP!!" LOL!

See ya all later Chicas

Blisters

So, as Melissa said, we " accidentally" did 5 miles yesterday....I am actually thinking it was closer to 6 though. I went again today and paid closer attention to the markers. I did about 4 miles this time...and I was proud of myself. I was able to slow jog about half, brisk walk the other half. My knee is aching, and I have huge blisters on my feet. It is so much more interesting to go on this particular trail for me. I really feel part of nature. I also found something out today. I usually listen to pretty upbeat music...gets me moving. I uploaded some softer songs..still upbeat but more relaxing. I found that is when I was able to push it longer. I listened to Queen and David Bowie singing Under Pressure, while the creek babbled next to me. I actually sighed. After that, I listened to Daughtery singing my theme song. I'm going home. It was pretty nostalgic for me, as I have been away from home for 10 years. I watched the sun setting over my mountains, and felt at peace for the first time in a long while. It has been so stressful for me the last 6 months. Living in the in-laws basement...watching our house lose 25 thousand in value due to the economy...not selling said house....the list could go on. But, while I am out near God's mountains, I feel like I am invincible. I feel healthy, worth something. I feel like all my baggage, all my flaws disappear.
So, enough of that. Time for bed for the munchkins.....Sweet Dreams my losers.

Please..let the holidays be over with!

Okay, seriously...whoever decided to toss all these holidays together needs a talkin' to!
I haven't been horrible, but I could have been better.
I had a really bad night last night. I didn't get to sleep until around 5ish am. I hate my insomnia, and it stinks because it really does affect my whole day. I have no energy, so my eating reflects that.
I am going to take the kiddos to school, then maybe try and catch a 45 minute " Rest" ( hahahahahahaha...with a 4 and 5 year old...riiiight!)
Will update later!

Pedometer

So, a couple weeks ago, I bought a cheapie Pedometer at wallyworld. ( not the one pictured, same brand, but mine must be too cheapish to find a picture!) I finally tried it our today on the trail. It said I went 2.90 miles on the trail, and I set a goal of 15,000 steps.
I did 10,796 steps today, or 5.10 miles total. I am not too impressed with this gadget, although I do want a good one. It makes an audible click every time I step...Kind of annoying!

But, hey, my pants were falling off me all day today.....whoohooooooo!!!

It's Friday

Yesterday I earned a little cash painting. My fingers have blisters. I looked like a circus freak show though.....paint speckles all over my face, in my hair. Not to mention the paint fights I got into with my siblings.

I tried those fiber ones chocolate and oats yesterday. YUMMY! I can't believe they have 9 grams of fiber! I recommend them!

I am going to try and run the trail today....it looks like another pretty day, we will see I guess.

Have a good weekend loser friends!

Spring has sprung

So, Today was a beautiful day. Holly and I took the little girls to the park, and saw some tadpoles in the pond. Holly's cell phone was launched into the water via her daughter, and I got to go in after it. ( Holly spotted me, so no swimming for me today!)

I got new running shoes last night, and tried to break them in a little today.

They are New Balance..and I love them!

But, as MY luck would have it, Holly and I ran around the block near her house, and as we rounded her fence to run another block, I...as in me...as in christi, KICKED A STUPID ROCK..a big one right in front of her house. Needless to say, I am going to lose my big toenail. * sigh *

In honor of spring, my most favorite time of the year..I am posting some pictures of my spring flowers from memphis last year. My flowers are the only things I will miss back south.

You all know the song Popcorn Popping.....

My weight is gone!

Well, not on my body, but on my here blog. I guess it got erased when it was redesigned. Darn! I think I have it written down somewhere. Darn again. I wish there was magic to make that happen on my backside. If wishes were horses.....we'd all take a ride, eh?

Top of the morning to ya!

So, I made it! Barely, but I got through yesterday. I made green oatmeal and green eggs for the kids in the AM. I was really tired pretty much all day though, and trudged on through the day. Last night Melissa, Holly and I got a nice meal and a fire safety lesson. I did get the steak, and it was nice and tender. Of course, they added a potato the size of a small town, but get this...it was FRIED. Yes folks, battered and fried! So, I picked out the middle! Melissa got the best seat in the house I'm told! She had the perfect birds view of Mr. Plumber dude on the next table. Add my own brother passing me notes while the fire dude was talking , and it made for a fun night. The conversation later at the mall over ice-cream ( TCBY....I was good!) just topped it off!
When we got home, my daughter Aubrie and I finished watching a fun little Disney movie.
"Luck of The Irish"
For Breakfast, I did have a nice cracked oat cereal. Lunch, a smart ones pasta.

So, today I feel rested, my cramps are gone, and I am going to get to the gym regardless of scouts, and YW.

Have a good day my losers!
